Why aren't sound engineers banned from jazz clubs? - 2006/01/31 14:18 I dread going to clubs with sound engineers. Visiting a jazz venue in Bucks, the reverb made my eyes water.

Re:Why aren't sound engineers banned from jazz clubs? - 2006/02/12 13:20 At last some fellow whingers. I started to get pi**ed off way back with Dizzie Gillespie at the Royal Festival Hall when the band was miked up like a football stadium. This was followed by the JUlian Joseph band at the Barbican, where the soundman was on the stage! obvously to get the balance right. What finished me off was the Ronnie Scott memorial concert at the Barbican again. Don't those guys realise that those concert halls were made to hear the tiniest note from a violin.
