what should I do - 2006/02/01 19:41 Hi everyone, I want to start a Small Jazz Band at school. I am in Year 8 (I'm 12 years old). I can only get one of my friends to join in with me and I'm not sure if even he's going to stay with me. Please give me some ideas because Jazz is the best!!

Re:what should I do - open your ears and listen - 2007/02/22 20:28 Well there are some Jazz Platforms that may be of interest to you - Windsor and Newbury where like minded individuals get together for tuition and jams. Check out your local jazz club get along negotiate a deep discount and sit and listen and learn from the masters. When proficient ask to play in the intervals for background and receive encouragement from patrons.
Check out local bands for tuition -rehearsal nights and take it all in.
see Youth into Jazz pages on

Hit the web hard on links and theory and above all - listen to past masters on any recordings to hand - things will gel as your ear gets better and the pennies drop to open the gates to a lifetime of healing sounds.
