The Dankworth Prize for Jazz Composition 2010 - Winners |
 The Winners for 2010!Superb set of entries creates real problems for judges!
The Worshipful Company of Musicians and Jazzorg have pleasure in announcing the winners of the Dankworth Prize for Jazz Composition 2010 as follows:

In the Big Band Category, the prize was awarded to Matt Roberts (Trinity College of Music) for his composition 'Unweaving The Rainbow'.
- In the Small Band Category, the prize was awarded to Yuriy Galkin (Royal Academy of Music) for his composition 'Evolvent'.
Both compositions will be played and recorded at Ronnie Scott's Club by the Trinity College Jazz Ensemble at a public concert on Wednesday, 24th March 2010 - watch [this link] for details. Additionally, the manuscripts of the winning compositions and recorded versions will be available shortly for free download from Jazzorg under the terms of Jazzorg Licence. This prestigious and valuable national prize attracted entries of a very high standard both within and outside mainstream education and gave the judges, Frank Griffith, Nikki Iles and Tim Garland, a headache in deciding the winners from such an array of talent.
